David Jacobson, Co-Founder
David oversees the company's operations and supervises new construction projects. He began his real estate career as
Vice President and Asset Manager of Financial Advisors, Inc., where he was responsible for 5000 apartments in Texas and 250,000 square feet of commercial space in Michigan. As a licensed residential builder, David has built several investment homes as well as 200 condominium units. He’s also successfully converted multi-family apartment communities into condominium homes for sale. A graduate of University of Michigan, David co-founded Jacobson Brothers in 1995.
Howard Jacobson, Co-Founder
Howard supervises the acquisition, disposition and financial management of all Jacobson Brothers’ assets.
His real estate career began when he joined Financial Advisors, Inc., as Vice President and Asset Manager. While there he managed 2800 apartment units in Michigan, Florida and Arizona, and organized the REIT filing with the SEC. Howard is a graduate of University of Michigan and earned an MBA with a concentration in operations management from Carnegie Mellon University. Howard co-founded Jacobson Brothers in 1995.
Gary Rosenthal, Controller
Gary has been Jacobson Brothers’ Controller since 1995. His career in real estate finance began in 1984 when he
joined Financial Advisors, Inc., as Corporate Controller. His responsibilities at Jacobson Brothers include tax preparation, banking and financial management of all owned and managed real estate assets. Gary graduated from Wayne State University and earned his accounting degree from Walsh College.
Director of Operations
Kelly became the company’s Director of Operations in 2012, responsible for the
operating, management and human resources procedures of the 4000 units owned and managed by Jacobson Brothers. Kelly got her start in property management two decades ago. She was a Community Manager for a number of properties throughout Michigan before joining Jacobson Brothers in 2002 as Manager of Real Estate Assets. Kelly is a graduate of Western Michigan University with a degree in Business Administration.
Shellie's career in Real Estate began in 1997 selling homes for prominent builders throughout Southeast Michigan.
She moved into Property Management in 2006 as a Community Manager specializing in affordable housing properties. She joined Jacobson Brothers in 2013 and is responsible for the oversight of five of the company's residential communities.
Dawn joined Jacobson Brothers in 2017 as a Regional Manager responsible for the
daily operation and management of six of the company's residential communities. Her work in real estate management began in 1989 holding several key positions within the residential and commercial management industries.
Nicole has more than 15 years of experience in property management
in several levels of management including senior executive property manager, area manager and regional manager. As a regional manager she is responsible for the oversight of six of the company’s residential communities. Nicole has a associates degree from Ferris State University.
